Recalls, in this respect, that research has always been identified as an activity able to provide exponential resultsinnovative results in research are very likely to have a decisive impact in terms of economic activity, and is of the opinion that the EU should now be fully prepared to provide the necessary financial incentives; believes that this European added-value, on top of national efforts to support research activities, will generate increased spill-over effects for the benefit of all the Member States;
