Takes the view that the overhaul of competition policy is needed partly in order to meet the challenges posed by the digital single market, a sector which is changing rapidly, hence the importance of overcoming the current fragmentation along national lines and doing away with barriers to access to the market, while guaranteeing a high level of consumer protection;
