The European Parliament approved by 322 votes to 158, with 37 abstentions, the allocation of new responsibilities to Executive Vice-President of the Commission Maroš Šefčovič (SK) for the remainder of the Commission's term of office until 31 October 2024.

The hearing of Maroš Šefčovič was held on 3 October 2023, led by the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, with the association of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, the Committee on Transport and Tourism and the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development. An evaluation letter drawn up following that hearing.

The examination by the Conference of Committee Chairs was concluded by written procedure on 4 October 2023. An examination by the Conference of Presidents was carried out at its meeting on 4 October 2023.
