Draws attention to the European Defence Fund and the recent Commission proposal for a European defence industrial development programme which is intended to cover the period 2019-2020; welcomes the Commission’s intention to submit both a more substantial defence industrial development programme and a programme to support defence research as part of the MFF; considerstresses that these programmes should not draw funds away from other programmes in the same heading.
