Is highly concerned at the persistent high rates of youth unemployment throughout the EU; recalls that quality job creation and employment should be guaranteed and remain key commitments towards young people; calls on the Commission and the Member States to promote fair working conditions and remuneration; stresses the importance of defining social rights for new forms of employment and fair professional traineeships and ensuring social dialogue;

Strongly believes that quality education and training is a fundamental right; considers, therefore, that access to education should be guaranteed for all Europeans, regardless of socioeconomic status, ethnicity or gender; underlines the important role played by education in providing young people with the knowledge and skills to become committed citizens and take part in the European project - citizens who are able independently to develop specialist and communication skills for various contemporary challenges at local and global level, while striving to achieve sustainable solutions which are socially, environmentally and technologically convincing;
