Calls on the Commission to ensure effective and uniform enforcement of existing EU legislation on animal transport and legally binding reporting across all Member States; requests that the Commission propose aexamine the possibility of shortening thed maximum journey limit for all movements of horses for slaughter, based on; its examination should take into account in particular the findings of the European Food Safety Authority;
