Welcomes the efforts by the Commission to coordinate and consolidate EU initiatives in the field of urban mobility, such as CIVITAS 2020 for research and innovation, the Urban Mobility Observatory for exchange of best practice and experience, or the Platform on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans; calls on the Commission to reinforce its efforts to reduce fragmentation and lack of coordination between the relevant EU initiatives and programmes and to take into accountconsider the success of programmes such as URBAN and URBACT;
