Stresses that particularly business models of the sharing economy foster more and more flexible and atypical employment schemes, which may on the one hand allow for more flexibility and a better work-life balance in the EU where life expectancy is high and will become even higher, but on the other hand my also increase the number of precarious working conditions, most importantly through an ever higher number of solo- self-employed contractors; calls on the Commission and Member States to provide improved social security schemes in order to protect those who find themselves in precarious and exploitive solo-self-employment;
