Welcomes the progress made by the Agency in increasing the number of female members of governing bodies and in reaching the target set by Parliament in European Parliament resolution of 5 March 2012 on equality between women and men in the European Union - 2011, namely a threshold of 40 % female members of governing bodies by 2020;

Highlights the value of the Agency’s studies and opinions for the development of Union legal acts; welcomes the Agency’s continuous work on carrying out research and reporting on all types of discrimination within the Union, thereby contributing to improving inclusion strategies and related policies of the Union and the Member States; welcomes, in particular, the report of the Agency concerning the right to independent living of persons with disabilities, the social inclusion of young Roma, and the report on racial discrimination and racist crime against people of African descent;
