Considers that the challenges posed by climate change,threats to energy security, as well as climate change, can only be met with a multidimensional strategy that takes account of energy efficiency and renewable energy targets, and promotes a sustainable energy mix, based on the safe use of indigenous energy securityources and on the development of innovative energy technologies can only be met with a unified strategy on energy security issu; points out that such a strategy should take into account the geopolitical situation and the energy production capacities of individual Member States;
