Stresses the CAP’s added value in strengthening the Union’s long-term food security through more stable farm incomes and rural development measures to prevent rural depopulation and to harness the potential of rural areas; emphasises the potential of the CAP to provide more environmental public goods and stresses the need to safeguard the contribution of agricultural duties to EU finances.
