Bd. whereas between 2007 and 2011 the biggest Q fever epidemic in the world broke out on goat farms in the Netherlands, during which over 50 000 goats were slaughtered, there were more than 75 deaths, 100 000 people were infected, 478 people were left infected with the live dangerous bacteria Coxiella burnetii (chronic Q fever), 800 to 1 000 people remained afflicted with Q fever fatigue syndrome (QVS) and to this day new patients are continuing to present and people are still dying as a result of the consequences of Q fever;
