Believes that robotics plays a key role in improving the competitiveness and productivity of the European economy; believes that increased efforts in innovation and research in robotics can help Europe to become a global standard setter in this field; calls on the Commission to promote a pro- innovation policy in robotics, facilitating integration of technologies in value chains, and to assess the need to modernise legislation or develop European guidelines to ensure a joint approach in robotics, essential for companies to scale up in Europe;
