3b. Is pleased that, as long ago as 2015, five Member States and signatories to the Amsterdam Declaration - Denmark, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands - agreed to provide government support for the scheme to make the palm oil industry 100 % certified sustainable by 2020;

Urges the Commission, and all Member States that have not yet done so, to work towards the establishment of an EU-wide commitment of sourcing only certified sustainable palm oil by 2020 by, inter alia, signing and implementing the Amsterdam Declaration ‘Towards Eliminating Deforestation from Agricultural Commodity Chains with European Countries’, and to work towards the establishment of an industry commitment by, inter alia, signing and implementing the Amsterdam Declaration ‘In Support of a Fully Sustainable Palm Oil Supply Chain by 2020';
