16a. Draws attention to the needs of the Afghan refugees, more than two and a half million, still living in neighbouring countries, while acknowledging the efforts which those countries have been making to receive and assist them; calls on neighbouring countries to extend the legal status of the refugees beyond December 2015 and, with the help of the UN and the international community, to continue implementing the Solutions Strategy for Afghan Refugees; expresses its disquiet at the precarious conditions under which more than 700 000 internally displaced persons and 200 000 returnees are living and considers that they must be enabled to integrate fully, both socially and economically;
