Welcomes the engagement by the EU and Australia envisaged in the FA on intensifying their dialogue and cooperation on migration and asylum; underlines that the high level of global mobility requires a holistic and multilateral approach based on international cooperation and on shared responsibilities; welcomes the fact that both partners proactively contribute to the on-going negotiations of both the UN Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration and the Global Compact on Refugees; welcomes the general legal approach to irregular migration adopted by Australia.
