39a. Commends the EU's decision to grant visa exemption to Taiwan citizens, which will contribute towards strengthening trade and investment relations between the EU and Taiwan as well as people-to-people contacts; welcomes the rapprochement by both sides of the Taiwan Strait, leading to the signing of 15 agreements, particularly the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) in June 2010; encourages the further enhancement of EU-Taiwan economic relations and the signing of an EU-Taiwan Economic Cooperation Agreement; reiterates its strong support for Taiwan's meaningful participation as an observer in relevant international organizations, such as UNFCCC, ICAO and WHO;
