Deplores the harassment, intimidation, surveillance and reprisals of civil society, human rights defenders and environmental activists by Egyptian authorities in the run-up to and during the 2022 COP27 in Egypt; calls on the UNFCCC Secretariat to develop human rights criteria that countries hosting future COPs must commit to meeting as part of the host agreement;
