3. Notes the remaining gender and geographical imbalances within the EEAS staff, despite positive trends in recent years; reiterates the importance of ensuring a balanced distribution of staff in terms of gender and geographical origin within different categories and grades, particularly at middle and senior management levels; is appalled by the fact that in middle- management positions in the EEAS, men represent 75% and women 25%, while at the level of senior management, men account for 87%, while women account for 13% of the workforce; calls on the EEAS to update its Gender and Equal Opportunities Strategy in order to include concrete and binding goals regarding the presence of women in management positions; points also to the overrepresentation of Member States’ diplomats among Heads of Delegation; calls for further efforts to address these imbalances;
