Is concerned that the EU is one of the most exposed advanced economies to downward risks, given its geographical proximity to Ukralong-standineg and heavyarmful reliance on gas importenergy commodities from Russia; notes that the impact of high energy prices and inflation leads to the erosion of household purchasing power; highlights that a reduction in aggregate demand, combined with less favourable financing conditions, could lead to a sharp decline in investment and therefore in economic growth;

Notes that 22.4% of the EU population is at risk of poverty or social exclusion, of whom 24.9% are children, 23.3% are women, and 18.2% are over 65, and that the risk of poverty among people with disabilities rises to 34.6%; is alarmed that the youth unemployment rate in the EU is above 15%, stresses that it is these population groups that are hardest hit by the current energy crisis and onerous environmental standards, and calls on the Commission to support Member States in their fight against poverty and to plan environmental policy carefully in order to avoid further impoverishing EU citizens;
