Notes the strategic importance of independent access to space and the need for dedicated EU action; calls on the Commission, in collaboration with the European Space Agency and the Member States, to coordinate plannedand develop institutional needs and European markets, so that industry can anticipate demand, – thereby boosting jobs and industry based in Europe – to support launch infrastructure and to promote R&D, particularly in breakthrough technologies;
