Calls, as a matter of urgency, for the adoption and effective implementation of international standards on labour and human rights on the basis of ILO conventions; stresses in this context that respecting the right to form and join a union and engage in collective bargaining is a key criterion for corporate accountability; deplores the fact that freedom of association is denied at many production sites; insists that the role of unions, social dialogue and fundamental labour principles and rights – such as freedom of association and the right of all workers to engage in collective bargaining – should be respected;
