Takes the view that EU development policy should not impose EU interests, such as the opening up of markets for EU export and investment, on developing countries; notes that external factors contribute to corruption problems in developing countries, in particular in the context of PPP; aAsks the Commission to make the provision of microcredit to SMEs and small-scale farmers a priority of development cooperation, thus fostering sustainable regional economic structures;
