(6 a) Active European citizenship, shared values, creativityand innovative spirit need a solid ground on which they can develop. The importance of media literacy, and in particular film literacy, together withthe promotion of films for young people has been recognised by the EuropeanParliament’s resolution about European Film in the digital era from 2015 1a. (22) Since its creation, the European Film Academy has developed a unique expertise and is in a unique position to create a pan-European community of film creators and professionals, promoting and disseminating European films beyond their national borders and developing truly European audiences from an early age on.
