2. Considers, however, that more efforts are needed in order to increase women’s participation in top positions (on scientific boards and evaluation committees, for example) in all areas of science including research, recruitment, training, education, information technology, engineering, commerce, communications, public relations, advertising and industrial relations, by providing innovative forms of flexible working time for women that will allow them to continue working after becoming mothers;

4. Calls on the European Commission and on Member States to remove of all financial and administrative obstacles faced by women in the scientific field and to create more attractive and flexible working conditions for women, which will stimulate their interest in pursuing careers in all areas of science, by means of forms of support specifically for working mothers that will not affect the budget for scientific research;
