Advocates more support from the European Union to improve water management on farmland by providing incentives for the introduction of more water-efficient irrigation systems tailored to different crops, promoting research in this field, with particular regard to areas affected to a greater extent by water scarcity and drought, and encouraging the use of biotechnological developments;
