Article 1
The purpose of this Directive is to ensure that all victims of crime, regardless of their legal status receive appropriate protection and support and are able to participate in criminal proceedings and are recognised and treated in a respectful, sensitive and professional manner, without discrimination of any kind, in all contacts with any publiccompetent authority, victim support or restorative justice service.
