Calls – given the overall amount of financial aid to the Member States between 1999 and 2013 which is at issue, namely EUR 2.9 billion, and the uncertainty as to the conduct and monitoring of these programmes – for the establishment of a parliamentary committee of inquiry to examine the efficiency and effectiveness of EU funding for the dismantling of nuclear power plants in the new Member States;
