3) Article 4(6), is modified as follows: The competent authorities of neighbouring Member States may authorise cross-border operations using vehicles or vehicle combinations with dimensions and weights deviating from those laid down in points 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Annex 1 provided that they do not discriminate on grounds of Member State of registration of the tractor, trailer or semi-trailer. These competent authorities (‘may’ or ‘shall’) define the routes on which the vehicles or vehicle combinations with dimensions and weights deviating from those laid down in points 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Annex 1 are allowed to circulate. Member States shall inform the Commission thereof and will render this information available to the public. Article 5(b) and Article 8a are deleted.
