Calls on the Commission and the Member States to strengthen sustainable cross-border transport projects with European Neighbourhood Policy countries, especially Ukraine, as the lack of properly functioning interconnections between train, road and inland waterways networks is a major factor in the almost total reliance on the use of heavy goods vehicles on regional roads;
