Calls on the Commission and Member States to include in the calculation of agri- environmental measures (such as Regulation (EC) No 1257/99) the preservationpremiums the additional costs borne by farmers in order to take measures designed to prevent fires (cleaning of firebreaks, pruningremoval of dead branches, removal of dead plants, and organised feed stocksarboreal plants, working of the soil along the perimeter of land parcels, etc.) and to dispose of water (cleaning of collecting ditches and canals);
