(6) In order to avoid the North Sea – Mediterranean Core Network Corridor being separated into two distinct and unconnected parts and to ensure connectivity of Ireland with mainland Europe, particularly with its geographically closest neighbours, the North Sea – Mediterranean Core Network Corridor should include maritime links between the Irish core ports and core ports of France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

(7a) Taking note of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom, the Commission should carry out an early revision of Regulation 1315/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council, initially scheduled for 2023 at the latest, in order to adapt the routes of the corridors so as to ensure the proper functioning of the internal market and to increase the economic, social and territorial cohesion of the Union.
