COM(1994)0011
summary
This proposal was designed to supplement Council Directive 90/428/EEC on trade in equidae intended for competitions and laying down the conditions for participation therein: practical difficulties had emerged concerning the percentage of prize money and profits to be reserved for the safeguard, development and improvement of breeding. This being so, it was proposed to specify the percentage of prize money and profits for various types of competition, solely in order to improve checks by the competent authorities. It was proposed to retain 20% of the total prize money and profits from all competitions covered by a derogation.
