  The proposal for a regulation seeks to amend Regulation EEC No 1332/92 introducing specific measures for table olives. According to this Regulation, aid may be granted to olive producer groups or associations thereof for the constitution of working capital intended to stabilize supply by ensuring, in particular, the financing of storage required for the release of the product to the market. In order to be eligible for this aid, the cooperatives and associations thereof in this sector are allowed a period of 3 years to form producer groups and associations thereof, during which period the cooperatives and associations thereof would be considered as being equivalent to the producer groups or associations thereof. However, given the existing situation in the producing Member States, the period of 3 years was considered insufficient to allow all the cooperatives and associations thereof to complete transformation into the groups or associations thereof. The present Regulation therefore proposes to extend this time limit by one year. �
