  - OBJECTIVE: to revise Directive 91/494/EEC on the veterinary rules governing intra-Community trade and third-country imports of fresh poultry products, in the light of the application of harmonized standards for vaccines against Newcastle disease. - SUBSTANCE: - The Council's proposal for a directive concerns the veterinary guarantees which apply to trade in poultry and poultry products from a Community area practising vaccination against Newcastle disease to areas where a status of non-vaccination applies (Denmark, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Finland and Sweden); - The proposal simplifies the veterinary health rules which apply, this simplification having been made possible by the application of harmonized standards for vaccines (Commission Decision 93/152/EEC). �
