  OBJECTIVE: To amend regulation (EC) No. 384/96 on protection against dumped imports from countries not members of the European Community to take better account of certain adjustments due, inter alia, to differences in levels of trade or other factors. SUBSTANCE: The proposal aims to: - firstly, clarify the requirements for an adjustment for difference in levels of trade; - secondly, to restrict the effect of the provision in the regulation which provides for a limited number of adjustments to the normal value and export price which can effect the comparability of prices, where other differences not listed in the regulation may exist. �
