  OBJECTIVE: amending Council Directive 92/118/EEC with a view to simplifying certain provisions relating to imports. SUBSTANCE: Directive 92118/EC provides, in the case of imports of products covered by the Directive, for the drawing-up of Community lists of establishments of third countries. It would appear, by virtue of the lack of effect on human or animal health, that the preparation of such lists is not warranted for products such as ungulate skins and hides, bones, horns, hooves and products thereof, not intended for animal or human consumption apiculture products, game trophies, manure, wool, hair, bristles and feathers, and honey. It is therefore proposed, with a view to simplification, that the need for such lists should no longer be required. In the case of certain other products, it is proposed that the obligation to draw up a list of establishments should also be waived for third countries whose entire production complies with Community requirements. Furthermore, it is proposed that the task of laying down health conditions applicable to the meat of reptiles and species not covered by specific requirements should be delegated to the Commission (after consultation with the Standing Veterinary Committee). �
