  OBJECTIVE: extending for one year the application of the specific aid measures laid down by Regulations (EEC) Nos 1600/92 and 1601/92, in order to avoid any sudden interruption in the application of these measures detrimental to trade flows between the Azores and Madeira (outermost regions) and the rest of the Community. SUBSTANCE: Regulations (EEC) Nos 1600/92 and (EEC) 1601/92 lay down measures exempting from import duties and granting aid for certain agricultural products imported by the very remote regions concerned from the rest of the Community. These arrangements were to have been applicable from the 1992-93 marketing year to the 1995-96 marketing year. However, since there have been certain administrative difficulties in the introduction of these arrangements, it is proposed that their application be extended for a further year, i.e. up to and including the 1996-97 marketing year. The measures concerned are intended as aid enabling these regions to be supplied with cereals and other agricultural products, feedingstuffs, and processed meat products, at a cost affordable for those regions. These aid arrangements were originally laid down in the Poseima and Poseican programmes. �
