  OBJECTIVE: the proposal was for an amendment to Regulation (EEC) No 822/87 on the common organization of the market in wine. SUBSTANCE: the proposal for a Regulation has the following specific purposes: - to delete malic acid from the list of oenological practices; - to authorize permanently the use of a deacidification practice; - to end the preferential treatment of installations using rectified concentrated grape musts which started production before 30 June 1982; - to amend the entry price control measures for grape juices and musts: it is necessary to set up rules under which respect for entry prices will be checked either consignment by consignment or using a flat-rate import value to be calculated on the basis of price quotations in the country of origin, in line with detailed rules to be determined. �
