  OBJECTIVE: the draft decision by the EEA Joint Committee concerns the amendment of Annex XXI to the EEA Agreement relating to statistics, with the aim of integrating the Community acquis recently adopted in this field. SUBSTANCE: in order to ensure the requisite legal security and homogeneity, the EEA Joint Committee is to integrate all the relevant Community legislation into the EEA Agreement as soon as possible after its adoption. The draft decision is intended to amend Annex XXI to the EEA Agreement to take account of the Community acquis in the field of statistics (a series of Council and Commission Regulations dating from 1996 and 1997). Liechtenstein is accorded a derogation on account of its small size and limited statistical resources.�
