  PURPOSE: to extend Community guarantees granted to the European Investment Bank covering loans for projects in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia CONTENT: in line with the EU's commitment to accommodate the federal Republic of Yugoslavia into the international arena, the European Commission has forwarded proposals to extend EIB financial assistance to the Balkan state. On instructions from the Member States, the European Commission proposes extending Decision 2000/24/EC which set up an EIB financial programme for the countries of Central and Eastern European Countries, to include the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The proposed budgetary increase would amount to EUR 350 million. Financial priority will be given to the redevelopment of the energy and transport infrastructure.�
