  PURPOSE : to amend the Rules of Procedure of the Court of Justice of the European Communities with regard to the language arrangements with a view to including the new official languages among the languages for proceedings laid down in the Rules of Procedure. PROPOSED ACT : Council decision. CONTENT : the proposed amendments are designed, with a view to enlargement, to include the new official languages among the languages for proceedings laid down in the Rules of Procedure of the Court of Justice. More specifically, with the accession of the new Member States Czech, Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Slovak and Slovene will become official languages of the European Union. It is therefore proposed that those languages should be added to the languages of the case listed in Article 29(1) of the Rules of Procedure.�
