  PURPOSE : to codify legislation on the transmission of data subject to statistical confidentiality to the Statistical Office of the European Communities.PROPOSED ACT : Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council.CONTENT : the purpose of this proposal is to undertake a codification of Council Regulation 1588/90/Euratom, EEC of 11 June 1990 on the transmission of data subject to statistical confidentiality to the Statistical Office of the European Communities. The new Regulation will supersede the various acts incorporated in it. The proposal fully preserves the content of the acts being codified and hence does no more than bring them together with only such formal amendments as are required by the codification exercise itself.
