1. Reaffirms the importance of programmes in the fields of education and culture since they reach the coming generations and promote European identity and diversity, and the need to provide adequate funding if they are to deliver on their increased ambitions, as wellnd become more inclusive so as to enable more participants to enjoy their benefits, particularly those with fewer opportunities; stresses that the Erasmus+ programme is the European success story, bringing people together, developing life and working skills, fostering intercultural learning and supporting a genuine European sense of belonging; considers that cultural, educational and creative programmes can contribute to the EU’s goal of tackling global challenges such as climate change;
