Amendment 1 #
Draft opinion Paragraph 1 1. Underlines that the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union (the ‘Centre’), which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2020, makes a crucial contribution to upholding the key principle of multilingualism in the Union, thus not only enabling the smooth functioning of Union institutions, bodies, office and agencies but also empowering Union citizens and organisations to access information and take full advantage of the social, cultural, economic and educational opportunities open to them; congratulates the Centre on the improvements in achieving its mission and calls on it to maintain its contribution to multilingualism in the Union;

Draft opinion Paragraph 6 6. Welcomes the fact that the Centre is currently studying the possibility of starting the procedure for obtaining an ISO 14001 or EMAS certificate in the near future, in order to enhance its environmental performance; in this spirit, welcomes the Centre’s preparation of its Initial Environmental Review in 2020.
